In general seafood trade is attracted by food preferences and by low labor costs of the importer.

Meat exports are favored by high per capita income and high primary production.

Trade determinants are diversified by processing and origin of the products.

Aquaculture trade is less dependent on importer's seafood preferences and exporter's production.
