The current work presents the first demonstration of micropatterned paper device (μPPD)-based colorimetric dsDNA detection via polydiacetylene (PDA) vesicles.
The wax screen-printing technology has been used for patterning of μPPDs.
A low-cost smartphone has been applied to readily document the colorimetric images for quantitative analysis.
The naked-eye colorimetric detection in μPPDs can be performed in a fast and sensitive form.
