Prenatal VPA exposure is associated with an increased risk of ASD in humans. VPA exposure resulted in smaller animals with smaller brains and smaller Purkinje cells in the cerebellar vermis. VPA exposure resulted in reduced CB expression throughout the cerebellar vermis and shorter and less complex dendrites. VPA exposure resulted in poor performance in motor tasks but these were attenuated by motor enrichment.
