Immunoreactivity of calcium-binding proteins in the septum was studied. Brains from fetal, newborn and postnatal guinea pigs were used. The presence of calbindin and calretinin was detected at E40. Parvalbumin began to be observed at E60. Calbindin displayed the highest immunoreactivity during ontogeny.
