A new ILs based extraction technique for β-carotene was proposed. Impact of numerous cation structure on solute solubility was predicted by COSMO-RS. Ammonium based ILs offered highest extraction efficiency for β-carotene. Performance of potential ILs was further optimized experimentally by following RSM. IL water contents were the most efficacious parameter in the extraction process.
