Piglet mortality was studied on a sample of French pig farms. Six main categories of mortality represented 84.5% of all the perinatal deaths. Different risk factors were identified for different categories of death. Three perinatal mortality patterns were identified amongst the sample of pig farms. Identification of the perinatal mortality patterns could lead to a more targeted management.
