First investigation of Na-doped MOCVD-grown CdTe films in substrate configuration. Introducing Na after Mo back-contact causes a ten-fold increase in CdTe grain size. Introducing Na prior the back-contact causes delamination during further processing. CdCl2 treatment softens the surface with an apparent reduction in grain size.
