A simple model of coupling DEM–CFD has been developed. Comparisons of the numerical results with experimental results have been done. Local effect of porosity on hydrodynamic behavior of the fluid is taken into account. Three different geometries for fluidizing columns are proposed. Fluidization indicator is proposed, to better characterize the fluidization state.
