We investigated the mechanism of the heat shock response in male silkworm pupae.

We discovered two HSP mRNA peaks associated with the heat shock response.

The second peak was eliminated by knockdown of KPNA3 or HSF.

KPNA3 was shown to interact with HSF in vitro.
