Low-cost ZnSi composites were prepared from zinc ash waste. The SZC-1 showed steady adsorption capacities in the recycle process. The amorphous morphology suggested a positive impact on adsorption capacity. The adsorption mechanism was ascribed to the nature sulphophile. The adsorption parameters responded best to Langmuir and pseudo-second order models.
