Two modes of photooxidation by carotenoid and tetrapyrrole biosynthetic inhibitors. We examine differential alterations in chloroplast function and plastid signaling. NF and OF cause differential alterations in chloroplast ultrastructure and function. Photooxidation coordinates photosynthetic gene expression from nucleus and plastid.
