Simple and low cost superhydrophobic silica coatings were easily fabricated on various substrates by spin and spray methods. Hierarchical morphology easily fabricated via spray as compare to spin coating method. The spray coated surface shows superior water repellent properties as compare to spin method. It shows good performance in term of thermal stability, optical transparency, durability, and mechanical stability.
