We evaluated EEG EAs and seizures in patients with disorders of consciousness.

Seizures occurred in 84.6% of patients with bilateral EAs (generalized or bilateral independent).

Seizures were less frequent in patients without EAs (10.8%) or with unilateral EAs (24%).

Presence of EAs did not affect outcomes at three months.

EEG EAs give valuable information in patients with disorders of consciousness.
