Delta-beta coupling is associated with paternal but not maternal behaviors during preschool. Greater paternal harshness is associated with greater frontal coupling. Less paternal harshness is associated with greater parietal coupling. Greater social fear is associated with greater frontal coupling. Paternal harshness appears to affect the development of neural systems of regulation as early as age 3.
