Buying recurrent transit weekly fares instead of one monthly fare is more expensive. We modeled fare transactions in Montreal, Canada over the course of a month. Income and social vulnerability drives the purchase of recurrent weekly fares. Transit agencies should address equity concerns of financial access to transit.
