Epigenetic mechanisms involve heritable changes in gene expression. Pathogenesis of epigenetic cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) is associated with global genome-wide changes. Modulation of epigenetic CVD mechanisms can be achieved by administration epigenetically active agents.
