Fe(III) modified BiOCl ultrathin nanosheet was firstly synthesized. The Fe(III) modification results a down-shifts of the conduction band minimum for BiOCl. The Fe(III)@BOC NS has a five-fold increase of visible-light-photocatalytic degradation rate for organic pollutant. The Fe(III) modified BOC NS has promoted the hydrogen production.
