MADOC model was used to analyse historical and future trends in DOC. Data from six sites across two UK monitoring networks ranged from 1993 to 2010. Acid deposition appeared to be a predominant control in soils other than peatland. Nitrogen deposition rose the baseline for pre-industrial levels of DOC.
