First report of excess fluoride and salinity in the drinking water of the region. Water quality index shows that 50% of the water samples belong to poor quality. Heavy groundwater extraction resulted in the decline of water level up to 35 mbgl. Groundwater is being supplied to the local populace without proper treatment.
