Effect of ultrasound on the function and structure of a membrane protein: The case study of photosynthetic Reaction Center from Rhodobacter sphaeroides
Ultrasound induced denaturation study for an Integral Membrane Protein is proposed. Reaction Centre (RC) from Rhodobacter sphaeroides is employed as protein model. Absorbance and circular dichroism spectra give information on RC structure stability. Charge recombination kinetics are used to study RC functionality. Ultrasound induced RC aggregation is showed by Atomic Force Microscopy.
