We compared male and female guppies' performance in two spatial tasks. The two sexes showed similar ability to navigate around an obstacle in a detour task. Males were more persistent in trying to pass through a transparent obstacle. Only males learned a more complex maze. These intersexual differences match patterns observed in other polygamous vertebrates.
