La0.8Ce0.2MnO3 was deposited on CeO2 with different morphologies (rod, cube and polyhedron).
La0.8Ce0.2MnO3/CeO2-p exhibited the best activity during the catalytic combustion of toluene with the ignition temperature and complete conversion temperature at 128 and 240 °C, respectively.
The higher catalytic activity of La0.8Ce0.2MnO3/CeO2-p was attributed to high specific surface area, small grains, more oxygen vacancies, and highly reactive oxygen species.
