PGD2 dilates the middle meningeal artery (MMA) in rats. MK-0524 inhibits (∼62%, p < 0.05) the PGD2-induced dilation of the MMA. Mainly, DP1 receptor is responsible for vasodilation. mRNA for DP1, DP2 receptors and L-PGDS is present in pain processing structures.
