An improved method for total organic iodine detection in water is proposed. The lowest reported method detection limit for total organic iodine was achieved. The method recovered a wide range of iodinated organics and rejected the iodinated inorganics. The proposed method resulted in the lowest breakthrough of organics onto activated carbon in real water samples.
