Overprediction of particle dispersion by Discrete Random Walk (DRW) model due to use of generic value for time-scale constant. Development of a calibration methodology, based on Taylor's dispersion theory, improving DRW's particle trajectories accuracy. DRW model calibration to reproduce experimental data, step-by step physics description and validation of numerical results. Calibrated DRW model predicts particle sedimentation interacting with marine (MHK) turbines in highly turbulent channel flow.
