SrMnxFe12-xO19, were obtained by high energy ball milling and annealing at 950 °C. A high concentration of Mn, up to x = 5, has been obtained. The substitution mechanism and effect of Mn3+ in Sr-hexaferrites are reported. The Mn3+ ions occupy 2a and 12k sites confirmed by Mössbauer study. The substitution of Fe3+ per Mn3+ increases the coercivity field up to 9.7 kOe.
