Metabolomics of Ulva lactuca Linnaeus (Chlorophyta) exposed to oil fuels: Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and multivariate analysis as tools for metabolic fingerprint
Multivariate analysis enabled discrimination of gasoline-exposed from diesel oil-exposed metabolic profiles of U. lactuca. The spectral window related to the protein absorbance enabled best discrimination of metabolic profiles. Time of exposure was the most relevant factor to discriminate gasoline-exposed samples. Concentration was the most relevant factor to discriminate diesel oil-exposed samples.
