Modeling of ultra-thin coating bonded to a half-space within surface elasticity. Untraditionally Love waves can propagate in a layer-substrate for certain condition. Love waves scattered by a nano-size crack using surface elasticity theory. Surface/interface effect on DSIF, dispersion relation and reflection coefficient. Accounting for the role of surfaces/interfaces in high frequencies is inevitable.
