Synthesis of cross linked PVA/silica nanocomposite membranes.

Membrane characterizing using FT-IR, SEM, XRD, TGA and DS (swelling degree).

Using membranes to dehydrate reaction mixtures of methyl acetate by pervaporation.

Offering acid conversions, fluxes by varying empirical conditions and silica content.

Optimum acid conversion was found to be 94% by using 20 wt.% of silica content.
