Aniba canelilla essential oil has in vitro trypanocidal action against Trypanosoma evansi. Methyleugenol and 1-nitro-2-phenylethane, isolated or associated, has in vitro trypanocidal action. These compounds may be considered responsible for the in vitro trypanocidal action. A. canelilla may be considered an important approach to treat infected animals by T. evansi.
