Supercritical CO2 extraction of Chinese lantern calyx was conducted.

Increase in P or T obviously improves the global extraction yield.

Reduction in powder dimension results in a little increase in yield.

Calyx extract may be unstable if exposed to sunshine, high T, Fe3+, Fe2+ or Al3+.

Empirical Naik and Barton models fit the extraction process data extremely well.

De ranges in 0.68–18.7 × 10−12 m2/min estimated by using Crank model.
