White feces syndrome (WFS) is an emerging problem for shrimp culture in SE Asia.

Massive quantities of Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) spores in the white feces.

EHP was detected in all the shrimp samples collected from WFS-affected ponds.

EHP can be transmitted through cohabitation.
