Enzymatic hydrolysates of agave bagasse were suitable for H2 production. An inverse correlation between VHPR and HMY was observed in CSTR. VHPR and HMY were simultaneously enhanced through increasing OLR in TBR. CSTR may be more susceptible to inhibition by hydrogen accumulation than TBR. Apparent H2 consumption and high solids loading limited further OLR increments.
