Insulin-encapsulated SF microparticles were prepared by coaxial electrospraying. SF microparticles provided a sustained release of bioactive insulin. SF dressing with insulin release promoted cell migration and wound healing. Insulin-functionalized dressings provide new treatment options for chronic wounds.
