Multi-objective optimization of microchannel reactor for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis using computational fluid dynamics and genetic algorithm

Multi-objective optimization using a CFD model and genetic algorithm is proposed. Fischer-Tropsch microchannel CFD model with cobalt based catalyst is developed. Catalyst zone division increases productivity and decreases temperature raising. Optimal solution increases C5+ productivity to 22% and decreases ΔTmax to 63.2%. Catalyst zone division optimization can be applied to different packed bed reactors.
