Antibacterial and anti-biofilm efficacy of fluoropolymer coating by a 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoro-p-phenylenedimethanol structure

Novel coating polymer of tetrafluoro-p-phenylenedimethanol (TFPDM) was synthesized. The TFPDM-based acrylate and epoxy polymers exhibited high hydrophilicity. The TFPDM-based acrylate polymer showed high antibacterial activity in 72 h. The acrylate polymer deterred biofilm formation for 30 days and induced detachment.
