High concentrations of DBPs were formed in the discharge zone of Bohai Sea. DBP formation was highly affected by the combined water composition. Br− and Cl− concentrations may highly affect the formation of Br-DBPs. Compared to chloramination, much more DBPs were formed with chlorination disinfection.
