The forest fragmentation and restoration process model was developed in the work. Forest fragmentation and restoration processes in Oregon and Alabama were mapped. Effects of land tenures on fragmentation and restoration processes were compared. The fragmentation processes mostly occurred in nonfederal lands. Natural forest fragmentation pattern varied with land tenures while plantation not.
