Two stages of faulting were recognized: pre-lithification and post-lithification.
Pre-lithification fault cores are composed of chert clasts whereas post-lithification fault cores contain limestone clasts.
Limestone fault rocks are characterized by larger clast size and its lower angularity than chert fault rocks.
Limestone fault rocks have higher porosity but smaller pore size than chert fault rock, and therefore, lower permeability.
Timing of deformation was a key to set up the permeability structures of the studied faults.
