We have analysed Neolithic pottery from Trieste Karst (northeastern Italy).
A multi-analytical approach, including XRF and X-ray μCT, has been adopted.
Clay-silt size paste containing quartz and abundant calcite is typical of Karst.
A fine-grained sample with grog, quartz and feldspar was manufactured elsewhere.
MicroCT-derived parameters allow non-destructive fabric characterization of pottery.
