Two new and two known flavonoid glycosides were isolated from Iris tectorum.
The linkage pattern of the rhamnose substituent at C-5 was not common in naturally occurring flavonoid glycosides.
Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and chemical evidence.
All isolates were evaluated for their inhibitory activity against aldose reductase.
Compound 1 showed moderate inhibitory activity, with IC50 values of 1.63 μM.
