Isotope tracer experiment was carried out in supercritical water (H216O) with 18O2.

Both 18O2 and H216O simultaneously react to grow oxide scale.

The oxidation rate increases with dissolved oxygen content in supercritical water.

Increased oxidation rate stems from changed oxygen potential through oxide scale.
