A high efficient fibers for Cr(VI) removal was prepared via radiation technique.

Adsorption of Cr(VI) onto this fibrous adsorbent was followed pseudo-second-order.

Maximum adsorbent capacity of Cr(VI) was found to be 295 mg/g.

Cr(VI) was partially reduced to Cr(III) by the nitrogen species of adsorbent.
