Nd, Er and Y-modified HZSM-5 catalysts were tested for CH3SH decomposition. Nd/HZSM-5 catalyst exhibited improved catalytic activity and stability. Acid-base properties of the catalysts were related to the improved performance. Coke deposit on catalyst surface was responsible for the deactivation of the catalyst.
