Performance degradation of MR brake was observed and the reason for this was investigated using microscope. It was hypothesized that, the identified problems of MR brake can be overcome by increasing the hardness of disc. To validate the hypothesis, experiments were performed on Block on Disc setup having different hardness of blocks. To confirm the finding from Block on Disc, experiments were performed on the developed MR brake test setup.
