Nanorods of β-FeO(OH) were prepared and characterized. The β-FeO(OH) nanorods were entrapped in albumin (HSA). The hybrid β-FeO(OH)/HSA nanoparticles were stable in physiological buffer. The hybrid nanoparticles did not cause hemolysis in vitro.
