Permeation across polymer membranes is influenced by diffusion and thermodynamics.

Mixture diffusion is modelled with the Maxwell-Stefan formulation.

Phase equilibrium thermodynamics is described by the Flory-Huggins model.

Using matrix algebra explicit analytic expression are derived for the permeation fluxes.

The model is verified by comparison with published experimental data.
