[RhCl(COD)2] with a water borne pyridyl-triazole catalyzes olefin hydroformylation. The catalytically active aqueous phase can be recycled at least 4 times. Water dispersed Rh-NPs are the catalyst resting state after the first run. A new in situ prepared catalyst for biphasic hydroformylation has been developed.
