Increased clinical scores were observed in HFD-EAE mice than ND-EAE mice.

HFD-EAE mice showed significantly higher MMP-9, NADPH oxidase activities and lower IL-4 levels than ND-EAE mice.

Increased brain 5-HT, DA, and their reduced metabolism were found in HFD-EAE than ND-EAE or control mice.

5-HT levels were significantly correlated with MMP-9 activity and IL-4 levels resulted in the severity of EAE in HFD mice.
