A considerable increase of the available experimental database for the terbium atom – hyperfine structure constants for 40 new even-parity levels determined on the basis of laser spectroscopic investigations. Supplementary data on the hfs obtained for another 12 even-parity levels – new updated values given. Semi-empirical calculations of the fine- and the hyperfine structure for the even-parity configuration system in the terbium atom performed in the basis of 7 configurations; predicted values of the hyperfine structure constants in good agreement with the experimental data available.
